There were many restrictions while doing this project, one being the unmodifiable blue background. I used the color prominently in the illustrations, realizing its potential in creating interesting compositions.  Later, the layout was updated which included another refresh of illustrations, these took on a lighter feeling with the goal of guiding the user through the carousel with ease.  

With the improved illustrations and copy, the hope is that the FRE may see an increase engagement will ultimately lead to more retained users. The illustrations will give OneDrive a more modern appearance, increasing users’ confidence in the product. This work considered with the overall Android app update work that was happening at the same time. The improved FRE only added to the app’s massive update. 

Along with the FRE update, I was able to improve the sign in screen. Microsoft had recently updated their universal sign in screen on the web, so this was in perfect timing to align with that work. Plus, it fit in harmoniously to the carousel.
